Terms and Conditions for Tourist Guiding

RavingScotland does not charge VAT.

* We specialise in Glasgow City Tours, but as Blue Badge Guides are qualified and more than happy to lead city tours anywhere in Scotland as part of an extended tour.

Please enquire about other languages and we will do our best to refer you to our trusted colleagues.

Conditions

1.Travel Expenses - will be charged for tours or assignments starting and/or finishing outside Glasgow City Centre. Mileage will be charged at £0.35. Travelling time at English-speaking guiding rates will be charged for tours with pick-up or drop-off outside of Scotland.

2. Accommodation prior and/or after the tour - cost should be reimbursed if and when applicable.

3. Meals and accommodation - The guide should be included in meal and accommodation arrangements during the tour, or an allowance should be paid.

4. (Mobile) phone costs - reasonable telephone costs for organisation, administration and communication in relation to tours or assignments should be reimbursed.

5. Tour programmes and itineraries - should be submitted to guides as soon as available, ideally at the time of booking. Guides reserve the right to withdraw their services at any point if they deem programmes and itineraries as unrealistic.

6. All fees, conditions and expenses should be agreed between operators/agents and guides before the tour or assignment, ideally at the time of booking or confirmation. Operators/agents should notify guides immediately of any alterations to their tours or assignments or terms and conditions.

8. Complaints - Should there be complaints with regards to the services of the guide please inform RavingScotland immediately. The next instance is the Scottish Tourists Guides Association, details of which can be found on www.stga.co.uk. Agents/operators may also wish to forward positive feedback to STGA.

9. Payments - to RavingScotland can be made by cheque in GBP/£, by BACS or in cash. We regret that we are unable to accept payment by credit card.

Cancellation

Any cancellations should be communicated as soon as possible. Written confirmation should be given.

Cancellation by guide - Guides will do their best to honour assignments. However, should the need for cancellation arise, all efforts will be made to find a replacement guide. We ask operators/agents for their understanding and co-operation.
